[Yasmin_discussions] collaborative creativity

In the 1980's Otto Piene and I collaborated with our graduate students and research fellows at MIT's Center for Advanced Visual Studies to create the 'LightsOROT: Spiritual Dimensions of the Electronic Age'  exhibition that was shown for 18 months at the Yeshiva University Museum in New York. It combined 25 artworks using laser animation, holography, fiber optics, biofeedback-generated imagery, computer graphics, interactive electronic media, and spectral projections.  ARTnews wrote: "Rarely is an exhibition as visually engaging and intellectually challenging." The catalog introduction was written by Harvard University psychology Professor Rudolf Arnheim.
 
The collaborative process in creating 'LightsOROT' is described in the exhibition catalog (1988) available from Yeshiva University Museum and in my book The Future of Art in a Digital Age: From Hellenistic to Hebraic Consciousness (Intellect Books/University of Chicago Press, 2006; paperback edition 2008).
