Re: [Yasmin_discussions] simulation as self paradox

[Kaleidoscope: a structure/instrumentation dated in 1816
from David Brewster, naming his invention after the Greek word καλός (kalos)=beautiful
σκόπειο(scopeo), from the verb σκοπεύω(skopevo) = look at.]

In-between spaces, that are considered irrelevant, being aware, of the two points connected.

2007>'Observation'-a poli-rythmic space[kaleidoscopic space] turning
to a self indicated location.

Viewer as observer and observation point.
Percetion/Reflection having an impact more than once.
Assumption: 'the intermediary space of conscious and subconsious'

The influence of intermediary space. Mind and way of perception.
'In-between', in time considered, means from the moment an action has stared til the action is finished,
like a counting down of the hourglass. The reflection of 'this' time as a visual sentence.
What is happening in these moments of time proceeding, which are the visual images
that we have, and the ones our embodied minds are adopting.
The consequence/confrontation in each 'blink' and each observation.
'There is 'secret' visual language that reflects our insight to the view of the world'
Is this visual language an ultimate thought? A correspondence of the mythical
'intermediary space' of conscious and subconscious'? What do I perceive? what
do i reflect? Is the intermediary space between us gaining our insights.

Observation is a interactive installation forming a 'kaleidoscopic space'.
Observer and observation point are one and the same. The creation of this
space and the diversity which allows a change every single moment of time
has point of reference the reflection of time and space, as well as the
approach of human action and personal perception. The fragmented turning
reality creates self indicated paradox around the viewer/observer.
From the moment of entrance to the space, there is an immediate multiple
projection of the spectator/s actions to the walls.

The 'Observation' room, is a space composed by three walls with life size
projections and a mirror wall. The image is changing due to the revolving round
glass structure of lenses positioned around an infra red camera which captures motion
in all the possible positions in the 4.00x4.00 meters room though the spectator can
be standing still. The lenses structure enables a multiple image projection on
the walls throught the 3 projection/beamers.
The image of the observer is projected some times very small and sometimes
as big, depending on which lense passes in front of the camera.

The camera and projectors/beamers are having the immediate role of 'mirror'.
All three of the walls are reflecting on the real mirror wall. The camera captures
the image reflected on the mirror wall, a process which enables the 'illusionary' effect
of a never-ending space. The multiple black & white image is used as a metaphor of
thoughts/actions on the subconscious side of mind and the one and only colour reflection of
the viewer on the mirror wall as in sense of the conscious/awareness.
